Learn real Spanish in months, not years.
Aprende español de verdad, en meses y no en años.
Learn real conversational Spanish with me.
Lively, up-to-date, realistic, and adapted to your level
It's how people actually speak

How it works
- 🎧
Listen to real Spanish.
Dialogues written the way people actually talk, with the slang and shortcuts your textbook skipped.
- 💡
See what you missed.
Read along with the transcript, check the translation, and learn the phrases that slipped past your ear.
- 📈
Hear yourself improve.
Built-in ways to test yourself, so you can see your progress instead of guessing at it.
Train the ears, not the grammar.
- 🌱The right 20%. The colloquial Spanish people actually say, not another grammar drill.
- 🎧Real audio, in context. Hear each dialogue at native speed and slowed down, with the words on screen as you listen.
A real teacher in it with you. Alejandra writes every dialogue and the notes that go with it, so you know why people say it that way.

See how it works →✅ This is for you if…
- You can read some Spanish but freeze when it's spoken
- You've done the apps and want to actually understand people
- You'd happily do ten focused minutes a day if you knew it counted
- You understand your teacher but not the waiter
- You want Spanish for real life, not for a classroom
❌ This probably isn't for you if…
- You want fluency in a weekend, with no effort
- You already banter comfortably with native speakers (¡bien!, you're past me)
- You only need to pass a written exam
- You're an absolute beginner with no Spanish at all
- You want grammar drills and worksheets
What readers say
I could read a menu in Spanish for years, then froze the second the waiter spoke. A few months of these dialogues and I'm actually keeping up.
Despacito first, then full speed. That order is what finally made spoken Spanish click for me.
Ten minutes on the train each morning. I now catch phrases in shows that used to fly straight past me.
Questions, answered
What is Spanish with Alejandra?
Spanish with Alejandra is a newsletter built around real, spoken Spanish dialogues. Every week there's a new conversation in natural Latin American Spanish, with the transcript underneath and my notes on the phrases your app skipped. The focus is your ear: the Spanish people speak at dinner, in traffic and in the group chat, not grammar drills.
Who is Spanish with Alejandra for?
It's for English speakers who already know some Spanish and want spoken Spanish to stop feeling like a blur. You can read a menu, then the waiter starts talking and it's gone: that gap is where I come in. The lessons run from 🌱 A2+ through 🌿 B1 to 🌳 B2. If you have no Spanish at all yet, build the basics first.
Which Spanish do the dialogues use?
The Spanish everyone understands first: neutral Latin American Spanish, with tú, never vos. Each lesson adds one local twist as a bonus, a short line on how they'd say it in Argentina, Mexico, Colombia, Chile or Spain.
Why can I read Spanish but not understand it spoken?
Because you don't learn to understand Spanish by reading it. Written Spanish sits still on the page; spoken Spanish arrives fast, linked together and full of everyday phrasing. You learn by hearing real Spanish, over and over, until a wall of sound turns into words, then meaning. That's what the weekly dialogues are for.
How is this different from Duolingo or language apps?
Apps are good for building a habit, but they rarely put you inside a real conversation at real speed. Every lesson here is one: two people, one real question, native-speed audio, the full transcript and my notes on the bits that would have lost you. The aim is the 20% of Spanish you need to understand 80% of conversations.
What does the free tier include?
A new dialogue every week, free forever: the dialogue, the first minute of audio and the writing prompt. Membership is the whole thing: two full lessons a week with 🐢 Despacito, the annotated notes, the exercises, 📚 The Lesson Library and 🌡️ Monthly Level Test.
What audio speeds are included?
Every dialogue comes at native speed, slowed down with 🐢 Despacito so you catch every word, and sped up with ⚡ A Toda Velocidad until real Spanish stops feeling fast. On free posts and pages you hear a 60-second preview.
What is the Spanish level test?
🧭 The Placement Test is free, right here on this site: two minutes of real spoken Spanish, and a level at the end. Take it before your first lesson so you start on the right rung.
